The Moncton Lions Sick Children's Fund, a registered charity (#89002 1942 RR0001), operates this annual dragon boat festival as their major fundraiser.  The festival aids us in fulfilling our mission of, "providing financial support for sick children and their families whose means are surpassed by medical and treatment expenses."

In the last 13 years the fund has assisted over 800 families with financial help totalling $1,000,000!

Sponsorships of $1,000 helps defray the cost of presenting the festival.  Sponsorships allow us to direct all team pledges to the Sick Children's Fund (60%) and to the participating teams' charities of choice (40%).

“The stress of dealing with your child’s serious illness is huge.  To also have to worry about the lost of income (my wife had to quit work to be at our child's side); of the enormous travel costs; of even the possibly of losing our house, added unimaginable layers of stress.  Nobody plans for this kind of event.  The financial aid we received from the Sick Children's Fund allowed us to put our attention to where it was needed, on our child..”
